Day 1(D):
Sydney or Canberra to Melbourne – Sunday 02 November 2014
Welcome to our 2014 Melbourne Cup Tour.  This morning we set off early as we plan to travel the whole day, arriving at our destination in time for dinner at our accommodation this evening.  We have chosen a property right in the heart of the city giving us a chance to take a wander any time we have free.  Settle in as this will be our home for the next 6 nights.  (Lunch own expense enroute/welcome dinner on arrival)

Day 2 (BLD):
Melbourne Sightseeing – Monday 03 November 2014
After a hearty breakfast we head off on a sightseeing tour of the city.  We enjoy the sights and visit the spectacular Eureka Skydeck with awe-inspiring views from the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere. Skydeck is at Melbourne’s iconic Eureka Tower, currently the world’s tallest residential building - two dedicated lifts propel us to level 88 in under 40 seconds. Only Skydeck 88 can give you the world’s exclusive “Edge Experience” (at own expense) – inside  a switchable glass cube which slides out from the building!!!  We may have time for a quick look around Southbank before we arrive for our very special High Tea (lunch) at The Hotel Windsor where they have been serving traditional High Tea since 1883!  We have plenty of time to enjoy the freshly baked scones with jam and cream, exquisite pastries, finger sandwiches and a glass of sparkling wine.  Nearby are the Fitzroy Gardens in East Melbourne. The gardens were designed in 1857 by Latrobe Bateman who planned the gardens using the Union Jack as a pattern!  We take a look at Captain Cooks Cottage before a stop at Federation Square and then head back to the hotel. (Breakfast and dinner in the hotel/lunch/High Tea Hotel Windsor)

Day 3: (B):
Melbourne Cup Day – Tuesday 04 November 2014
Melbourne Cup Day and we are off to Flemington with a reasonably early start as the racing gets underway at around 10.30am.  We may even have time for a “TAB Stop” to get some early Cup bets and thereby miss some of the rush on the track.  We have arranged Reserved Seats and pre-paid entrance to the course with the rest of the day's activities and expenses are of your own leisure!  It's worth joining the crowds for a short walk along the lawn area in front of the Mounting Yard to admire Flemington’s famous roses and perhaps even venture into the “Bird Cage” to see some unique Melbourne Cup day fashion!
After a great day – and hopefully a profitable one – we will depart at a pre-arranged time after the last race and transfer back to our accommodation.  (Breakfast in the Hotel / lunch and dinner own arrangements and cost)

Day 4 (BLD):
The Dandenong Ranges – Wednesday 05 November 2014
This morning we head out through the Eastern Suburbs to the Dandenong Ranges. For over 100 years, The Dandenongs have been an idyllic retreat for Melbournians wanting to take in the mountain air and escape the bustle of city life. Today, visitors from all over Australia, flock to the beautiful gardens and magnificent tall forests of the Dandenongs.  At Belgrave we join the famous Puffing Billy Steam Train on a ride through to Emerald where our coach will be waiting for us.  Lunch today is at the Cuckoo Restaurant which is also located in Olinda along the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road.  The charming building is designed in Bavarian Chalet style boasting staggered gabled roofs with scalloped edging and decorative window shutters.  We enjoy a buffet lunch and relax with some great entertainment. Mid-afternoon we transfer back to our hotel.  It will be a great day. (Breakfast and dinner in the motel / lunch at the Cuckoo Restaurant)

Day 5 (BD):
Shopping/Queen Victoria Markets – Thursday 06 Nov 2014
Today is what Melbourne is all about - shopping !  We make sure we are well-rested and ready for all those bargains.  We explore Melbourne's famous discount outlets and hard-to-find back street warehouse sales.  Outlets include women’s fashion, handbags, men’s and kids clothing, homewares, chocolates/nuts/food, stationary, cosmetics, gifts, books, sportswear, lingerie and sleepwear, leather goods, sunglasses, swim wear, toys, manchester, surf/street wear, sunglasses and knitwear shops. We also visit the Queen Victoria Markets - a vast and vibrant centre of trade and commerce that was officially opened on 20 March, 1878, and has served consumer’s needs for more than 120 years.  Around 8.5 million people visit the markets each year. Spread over 7 hectares they are the largest open air market in the Southern Hemisphere. Almost one thousand traders sell everything from exotic Australian fruit and vegetables, local and imported gourmet foods, meat, fish and poultry to hardware, manchester, clothing and authentic Australian artefacts and souvenirs.  We arrive back at the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner.  (Breakfast & Dinner in the motel / lunch own expense)

Day 6 (BD):
Leisure Day – Friday 07 November 2014
This morning we have a more relaxed start to the day. Enjoy a lie-in, jump on the tram for your own sightseeing or perhaps explore the city on foot.  This evening we meet up for our final night on tour as we join Melbourne’s famous Colonial Tramcar Restaurant offering diners an enjoyable perspective of Melbourne's leafy boulevards and best attractions. This glossy, burgundy restaurant on wheels is the first travelling tramcar restaurant in the world and ensures a delightful, innovative approach to dining.  As we cruise the scenic streets of Melbourne, enjoy fine cuisine and the best of Australian wines.  The atmosphere is cosy, the service friendly and the decor as inviting as the colonial period these trams reflect.  Dining aboard the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant is not only a culinary delight, but also a trip back to a little piece of Victoria's history. (Breakfast in the hotel / lunch own expense/ dinner Colonial Tramcar)

Day 7 (B):
